I'm looking to buy a new digital camera. I've read lots of reviews, but am having a hard time finding the ideal one. I'm looking for something that has at least a 4x optical zoom, works well in low-light, resists blurriness, and is small enough to fit in my pocket. Are there any that you've used personally that you'd recommend? If so, please do leave me a comment.

Matthew! What's up, man?
My dad has been a big fan of Digital Photography Review. He found it hugely useful when he was looking for a digital camera.
You've seen my digital SLR camera, but I'm sure it won't fit in your pocket. Unless you're big into...cargo pants...with large pockets.

I've been pleased with Canon's digital cameras. I have a Powershot SD100, which is as compact as it is powerful. But for low-light and bluriness, you have to learn the manual feature pretty well, and then just experiment with what works. I have been really excited about the S80 (and it's predecessor, the S70). It has a wide-angle lense, so you can get extra cool shots in small places. It's a little bigger than shirt pocket size, but you could squeeze it into your jeans. Good luck tracking one down, though, because nearly every store in the country is out of stock! hope this helps you on your photographic journies.

I've got an HP R817. It & it's brother the R818 have a 5x optical zoom & lots of great settings (in-camera panorama, sepia/b&w, etc). It fits in a pocket, & has a design that fits to your right hand. It does not have a viewfinder, but I've gotten used to that.
I think it's on closeout, so you may be able to get it at a bargain price.

Matthew-
I've been thrilled w/ my Canon SD400. Small, flat, and pocketable and durable. Video setting not bad either.
But most importantly, great shots to my amateur eye. Pretty impressed w/ butterflyphoto.com and their service.
keep rockin,
-Brody
